Shawn Bjorndal brings over 16 years of high-impact pharmacy leadership, specializing in regulatory compliance, operational turnaround, and strategic consulting for pharmacies, health systems, and healthcare startups.

As Pharmacist-in-Charge for the fulfillment arm of the nation’s largest insurer and one of the country’s largest mail-order pharmacies, Shawn overhauled controlled substance and opioid policies from the ground up, transforming a vulnerable operation into a national model for compliance. His work directly contributed to securing URAC Opioid Stewardship accreditation and likely prevented over $100 million in additional DEA penalties.

Shawn has personally managed 133 Board of Pharmacy complaints and regulatory responses, guiding teams and executives through some of the most sensitive challenges in pharmacy practice. Having successfully navigated a formal accusation process himself, emerging with his license fully intact, he brings both personal insight and a systems-level understanding of regulatory expectations, making him a trusted advisor for organizations facing audits, complaints, or investigations.

In addition to his compliance expertise, Shawn founded and scaled PGxAlly, a national alliance helping pharmacists integrate pharmacogenomics and medication therapy management into modern practice. His career includes leadership as Pharmacist-in-Charge in retail, hospital outpatient, and large-scale mail-order settings, giving him a rare perspective across nearly every major pharmacy environment.
